Effects of Cardiovascular Exercise on Children with Chronic Respiratory Disease

BMJ Open Sport & Exercise Medicine contains an article in its October 2018 edition evaluating the “effects of exercise training on health outcomes in children with chronic respiratory disease.” Researchers conducted a literature review and found twenty-seven articles examining “outcomes of cardiovascular fitness, lung function, and quality of life.” The analysis of the studies found “exercise training significantly improves cardiovascular fitness” and quality of life for children with asthma.
