Families USA has released a report titled “Advancing Health Equity Through Better Evidence for Asthma Care: Translating Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Learnings into Equity-Focused Policy Recommendations.” This report utilizes the research portfolio of the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to create key policy recommendations aimed at more equitable outcomes for all patients with asthma. The report’s main policy recommendations include stratifying research results by race, ethnicity, and gender to better identify inequities; implementing community health worker interventions; and requiring qualitative data from parents in studies that focus on children. In addition, Families USA has released a recorded webinar that delves into the report, its purpose, and the findings the report was based on.
