On September 10th, we hosted a session on Self-Care for Asthma Home Visitors with Brooke Briggance, Program Director of Cypress Resilience Project. Doing the work we do in the community can take a toll on our health and wellbeing. Toxic stress and burn out are real for community health workers, so we need strategies to help protect our health while we do this work. The workshop covered what happens in the brain when we experience high levels of stress, and what we can do to help our brains manage that stress and heal. This workshop included a participant guide so everyone could walk away with a concrete plan for their individual self-care strategies. Presentation slides can be found here.
