Study Investigates Pollution’s Impact on Children’s Health

The Science of the Total Environment includes an article in its February 2019 edition investigating the effects of pollution on children’s health. The article cites the Lancet Commission on Pollution and Health noting pollution was responsible for “940,000 deaths in children worldwide” in 2016. Researchers note that “pollution prevention presents a major, largely unexploited opportunity to improve children’s health,” and that pollution “is linked also to multiple non-communicable diseases,” including asthma.
