Study Protocols for Predicting Asthma Attacks Using Mobile Devices and Machine Learning

An article in the October 2022 edition of BMJ Open explores protocols for predicting asthma attacks using connected mobile devices and machine learning. Researchers plan to conduct a two-phase, 7-month observational study and collected data about asthma status using smart monitoring devices and daily symptom questionnaires. The study will include 100 people at risk of asthma attacks that use a pressurized metered dose relief inhaler and will select 30 participants to complete 6 months of using smart devices.
